Déjà vu? Safety group investigates stuck gas pedal in Ford Fusion

MSNBC reported Tuesday that Federal safety regulators are now investigating reports that Ford gas pedals may be becoming trapped by floor mats in some models of the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan.
The same type of pedal error plagued auto Giant Toyota, who recalled more than 5 million vehicles worldwide earlier this year.  The case is not related to the beleaguered “unintended acceleration” related to the car’s electronic gas pedal.  In the case of both Toyota and Ford recalls, the gremlin is an unsecured floor mat, coupled with a gas …

And here we go.  Chevrolet’s previous forays into the small car market were less than successful, but with a first drive from autoblog out it looks like the GM company may actually have something going here.
Lets face it, small cars are not necessarily the forte of the American auto company.  Until that’s been left to the foreign makes.  However, recent offerings like the Ford Fiesta and the 2011 Cruze, it may actually look like a payoff for them and a good buy for you if you’re looking for a worthwhile …

MSNBC reported Sunday that Toyota is at the recall game again, pulling over 412,000 passenger cars in the US.  Most of the recalls are for 2000 to 2004 Toyota Avalons, which have been found to have improper casting for the steering lock bar.
The problem with the casting can cause the bar to break, which can potentially lock up the steering wheel and lead to a collision.  According to the article only three crashes have been reported in the US with the improper casting to blame.  In each of the crashes, …
